How To Do Milk Facial At Home

While milk is an excellent ingredient that builds the bones stronger, it has beauty benefits that a lot of people are not aware of. Milk contains vitamin A, biotin, protein, lactic acid and a lot many more properties which help in improving the quality of the skin. Using a facial treatment, once or twice in a month, whose core ingredient is milk will not only help in getting a skin that is healthy but will also help you by adding a natural glow to it.

No 1: Cleanser

Cleansing is the first and foremost step of a facial. Milk is an excellent cleanser, and thus, using a homemade cleanser with milk will help in cleaning the skin as well as the pores.

Yoghurt and Milk Cleanser

Things you will need:

 Yoghurt  1/2 cup
 Whole Milk  1/2 cup


  1. Take a bowl and to it add 1/2 cup yoghurt and 1/2 cup whole milk.
  2. Mix both the ingredients really well.
  3. Dip a cotton ball in this mix and apply it onto your skin.
  4. Massage it gently on the skin for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Rinse it off using cold water and pat the skin dry.
You can repeat this treatment twice in a day to cleanse the skin.
Yoghurt contains properties which help in cleansing the skin right from the pores. Milk 
helps in hydrating the skin and also brightening it. Yoghurt also contains lactic acid which works directly to dissolve the dead skin cells and improve the overall quality of the skin.

No 2: Exfoliation

Exfoliation specifically helps in cleansing the pores. It also removes dead skin cells and evens up the skin tone. It also helps in balancing the pigmentation of the skin.

Coffee, Oatmeal And Milk Scrub

Things you will need:

 Oatmeal  3 tbsp
 Ground Coffee  1 tbsp
 Milk  As required


  1. Take a bowl and add 3 tbsp of oatmeal and 1 tbsp of grounded coffee in it.
  2. Mix them well.
  3. Pour some milk into it and make a fine paste.
  4. Apply this onto your skin and using a circular motion, scrub the face.
  5. Rinse it off using lukewarm water and splash some cold water on your skin to close the pores.
  6. Pat the skin dry.
You can repeat this treatment twice-thrice in a week depending on your skin type.
Oatmeal and coffee both are natural exfoliators which helps in cleansing the skin and also 
the pores. It add a brightness to the skin while oatmeal helps in soothing the skin as well. Milk also helps in moistening and softening the skin.

No 3: Steam

Floral Steam

Things you will need:

 Lavender  1 Tsp
 Rose Petals  1 Tsp
 Calendula  1 Tsp
 Chamomile Flowers  1 Tsp
 Lemon Verbena  1 Tsp
 Neem Leaf  1 Tsp


  1. Take a pot and fill it with steaming hot water in it.
  2. Add all the ingredients in it and stir well.
  3. Now, find a comfortable space to sit and grab a towel.
  4. Place it on top of your head like a tent and look down at the pot while lowering your face to the pot of hot water.
  5. Keep your skin a little away from the pot to avoid any burns. Let the rising steam from it work on your face.
  6. Do this for 10 minutes straight.
  7. Once done, rinse your face using normal water and pat the skin dry.
Use a steam whenever you are following a facial routine.

A floral steam helps in opening the pores whilst hydrating the skin. The flowers also helps 
in nourishing the skin.

No 4: Toner

Toner helps in closing the pores and locking the goodness in. Using it every day after rinsing the face just with a cleanser also helps in improving the quality of the skin.

Coconut Milk And Vitamin E Toner

Things you will need:

 Coconut Milk  5 tbsp
 Vitamin E Oil  1 Tsp
 Rose Water  5 tbsp


  1. Take a dropper bottle and add coconut oil, vitamin E oil and rose water into it.
  2. Close the lid and shake it well in order to mix the ingredients.
  3. Using the dropper, apply this mixture onto your face and massage well.
  4. Leave for the skin to absorb it.
You can repeat this treatment once every day.

Vitamin E oil helps in working on all the ageing signs like wrinkles and fine lines and evens them out. Coconut milk helps in closing pores. Rose water balances the pH and evens the skin out whilst also contributing towards closing the pores.

No 5: Mask

Mask majorly concentrates towards repairing any damage and also sealing all the goodness in.

Milk, Yeast And Rice Flour Mask

Things you will need:

 Milk  2 oz
 Yeast  1 small packet
 Honey  1 tbsp
 Vanilla Extract  3-5 drops
 Rice Flour  3 tbsp


  1. Take 2 oz of milk and warm it up for 20 seconds in a microwave.
  2. Now in the heated milk, add yeast and mix well.
  3. Add in honey and vanilla extract to it and mix again.
  4. Dip a cotton ball in this solution and apply it onto the face.
  5. Once done, add in rice flour to the liquid and mix again.
  6. Apply this onto the face and leave it to dry for 15 minutes.
  7. Scrub with fingers to remove it, rinse it off and pat the skin dry.
You can repeat this 2-3 times in a week.

Milk helps in brightening and softening the skin. Yeast strengthens the skin cells structure
and helps in making it look healthy. Honey nourishes the skin whilst repairing the 
damage, while rice flour helps in exfoliating and removing the dead skin.

No 6: Moisturizer

Moisturizer helps in locking all the goodness and repair done by the mask, toning and the cleansing.

Olive Oil, Cayenne Powder And Beeswax

Things you will need:

 Olive Oil  1/2 cup
 Cayenne Powder  2 tbsp
 Beeswax  1/2 Oz


  1. Take a bowl, add 1/2 oz of beeswax in it and melt it.
  2. Pour it in a bowl, add 1/2 cup of olive oil and 2 tbsp of cayenne powder in it.
  3. Mix all the ingredients really well.
  4. Before it solidifies entirely, whips it using a blender.
  5. Do this till the concoction becomes fluffy.
  6. Take some of it in your palm and apply it onto your face and body.
  7. Massage till the skin absorbs it all.
Use this everyday, possibly twice in a day.

Olive oil helps in nourishing the skin while beeswax helps in moisturizing the skin. Cayenne powder contains vitamin E and C, which helps in repairing ageing signs like wrinkles and fine lines.
